Diplomats at PHM
Guests the Warsaw Citadel had not seen before paid a visit to the site on Monday, 4 March 2024 when the Polish History Museum hosted representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in our country.
Nearly 50 diplomats were welcomed in the impressive main hall by PHM Director Robert Kostro:
‘Our activities are aimed at showing more than a thousand years of Polish history. At the same time, the Polish History Museum is also a partner deeply interested in cooperation with the countries you represent. I am talking here not only about historical dialogue, but also about using the space offered by the modern building of the PHM at the Warsaw Citadel.’
The diplomats had the opportunity to become familiar with the modern building of the Polish History Museum and the possibilities offered by its conference and educational spaces, especially the auditorium and the cinema and theatre hall, as well as the library.
The visit at the PHM was also an opportunity to present diplomats with the temporary exhibition Big and Small Stories. How the Polish History Museum’s Collection Was Built. Museum curators talked about the unique artefacts and their journey to the exhibition showcases, as well as how to tell the story of the Polish statehood and nation in a vibrant manner.
Distinguished international guests are always welcome at the Polish History Museum - in January 2024 the institution hosted King of Denmark Frederik X himself.
