How do you evaluate the figure of Stanisław II August?

He was a traitor and helped Poland collapse.
He was a man of good will but his activity was damaging to Poland for his weakness and lack of decisiveness.
He modernized the nation and created grounds for the development of modern Polish culture and the independence movement, including establishing a cadet corps, pushing monetary reform, creating the Commission for National Education, and supporting the development of arts and culture. Stanisław August Poniatowski was one of main promoters of the Great Sejm and of the reforms of the Third of May Constitutions. He did as much as he could in the extremely difficult situation in which Poland found itself, lacking in strong army and efficient administration, vulnerable to violence from powerful neighboring countries.
In the era of his reign, Poland would have collapsed anyway and the king’s policies didn’t have great impact.
