Since 2011, the Association of Friends of the Polish History Museum has supported the Museum. Its members include prominent historians and intellectuals of various backgrounds who provide support on many levels.
The group’s main thrust is to advise the Museum on the content of its programs and to assist in many other areas. The Association provides an active forum for civic debate about Polish history and its influence on everyday life. One of the Association’s highest priorities is to spread knowledge about the common heritage of Poland and Europe overall, and to support initiatives that broaden awareness abroad of how Polish history has influenced European development.
In 2014, a new board was established within the Association led by Dr. Magdalena Gawin. In November 2015, Dr. Gawin became Deputy Minister for Culture and National Heritage, and Dr. Mateusz Werner replaced her as chair of the Association.
